This simple maze craft has lots of fun parts to it and lots of opportunities to practice well being skills creatively. Using playdough is a great sensory experience for kids and I found that my son got absorbed in the construction of the maze and placing the straws in the dough.
Once the maze was finished (with the added farm) we practiced using our breath mindfully to blow a pompom around the maze. The game was to pick a point and find our way around the maze. Practicing focus and problem solving too.

- Paper Straws
- Farm Animals
- Pom Pom
- Scissors

I think that this is a great activity for kids of all ages. The maze can be as simple or as complicated as the kids want to make. Older kids might want to leave out the imaginative play and focus more on the construction of the maze and playing the game. The great thing is they will all benefit from taking time to express themselves creatively and practice using their breath in the game.
Whilst kids are using their breath, just prompt them to try using a light or strong breath and then notice how it feels. Get them to check in with how they feel and enjoy the positive feelings of creating a maze and playing a fun game.
