Let’s the Play Gratitude Beach Ball Game

To play this game, you will need a beach ball and a permanent marker.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to play:

  1. Prepare the Beach Ball: Before the game begins, take a beach ball and use a permanent marker to write different gratitude prompts on each coloured section of the ball. See my list of ideas below.
  2. Gather the Kids: Have the children sit or stand in a circle. Explain the concept of gratitude and why it is important. Make sure they understand that the game is about sharing positive experiences and things they are thankful for.
  3. Start the Game: Throw the beach ball to one of the children. When they catch it, they must look at the section where their right thumb is resting and read the prompt aloud. They then share their answer with the group. After sharing, they throw the ball to another child, and the process repeats.

The game continues until every child has had a turn, or you can play for a set amount of time. This game not only helps children practice gratitude but also can help children to practice mindful movement.

A great brain break game, offering children a chance to rest and feel good.
