You can also download the free Easter mindful breathing colouring in sheet and include this in your Easter celebrations at home or in the classroom. Find it at the bottom of the post.

There are two variations of this activity to choose from, the Easter Egg Tracing version which you can use with the free printable colouring in page and the Easter Egg Visualisation.

Let’s start with the Easter Egg Breathing Visualisation:
Easter Egg Breaths Visualisation
In this activity children are invited to use their imaginations to visualise an Easter egg and then practice breathing alongside.
First of all find a calm, quiet space to read this visualisation activity out to your child.
Script:
“I would like you to cup your hands together gently and Imagine holding a colourful Easter egg in your hands. This is a very magical egg and you can imagine it glowing in any colour you like. “
“Notice how your colourful egg begins to feel warm in your hands. Get ready to breath in slowly and as you do your egg expands and glows brighter. Then, as you slowly breathe out, the egg shrinks back to its original size.”
“Hold your egg for a little while and feel its warmth and glow filling you with calming energy.”
Reflection:
What colour was your Easter Egg? How did it feel to hold it in your hands? You could also try the Bunny Breaths activity afterwards.

Easter Egg Tracing Breathing Activity
This activity uses the sense of touch and breathing. If your child likes, they can simply start by tracing the shape to practice building focus and attention and then build up to the breathing activity. Whatever works for them.
You’ll need to print out the free Easter Egg worksheet below or you could used a real Easter Egg. This could be a good way to slow down before the egg is devoured and a little signal to eat Easter chocolate more mindfully.
Script:
“For this activity we are going to trace the shape of the Easter egg and focus on the sensation of touching the paper or egg with our finger. Start at the top of the egg and trace your finger slowly down one side and then up the other side. Noticing any sensations you are feeling.”
“Next you are welcome to try this and then practice taking a slow, calming breath. Start again at the top of the egg but this time as you trace down, breathe in and as you trace up, breathe out.”
Reflection:
What sensations did you notice?
