One moment, we feel the warmth of happiness, shining bright like the sun, bringing energy and positivity. Then dark clouds can suddenly roll in. An unexpected challenge can create a downpour of sadness. A reminder of a past experience might cause a flash of anxiety.
The changing nature of our emotions reminds us that it is completely natural to experience ups and downs.
There are moments of sunshine, thunder and rain, each one needed. Each one a message, helping us to learn about ourselves. Just as we dress for the weather, we can learn to navigate our feelings with awareness and kindness.

How to create a Feelings Wheel Paper Plate Craft:
1) Pick a Template: You can either use my free blank template or buy my pre-filled Feelings Wheel template and feelings list here.

Fill in / Colour Your Template: This is best done before you cut and stick. Choose 6 colours, one for each feeling and colour each section of the wheel.

Draw Sections and Cut: I used the template to section the plates into sixths. On one plate cut out one section. Leaving a little paper and the point for the split pin.
Next piece holes in the centres of both plates. I used a pencil.

Stick and Secure: Next line up your cut out feelings wheel template on top of the first plate. Then pop the second plate with the cut out section on top. Secure with the split pin.

Decorate: Now the front of the feelings wheel can be decorated. Use colourful pens and pencils, stick images and use stickers to make it your own.
Spin and Check in: Use your feelings wheel as a family, in the classroom or have to use when you need a check in. Reflect on how you’re feeling and practice finding the words for your feelings.
