Easy Paper Bubble Wand {+ Bubble Recipe}

This easy paper bubble wand is so simple and best of all plastic free. Made out of paper straws this bubble wand creates really fun bubbles, inviting children to play and explore with their senses. This is also a great summer craft perfect for getting kids outside.

How to Make an Easy Paper Bubble Wand

You’ll Need:

A simple craft and invitation for kids to play and explore using their senses.

  1. Gather Straws

    Bunch together 7 paper straws, so they make a tube shape.

  2. Bring on the String

    Cut 2 x 5 cm lengths and secure straws together with string at each end.

  3. Dip and Blow

    Make up some bubble mixture (see recipe below) and get blowing!

  4. Sensory Play

    Invite children to notice the shapes and colours of the bubbles. Can they touch and pop the bubbles? What happens if they blow gently vs with a big breath? How about if the use one straw or add more straws?

How to Make DIY Easy Bubble Mixture (+ Free Printable Recipe)

  • Makes 350ml
  • Prep 5 minutes

Ingredients for easy Fairy Liquid Bubble Mixture:

  • 50ml washing-up liquid (one part) – I use fairy liquid it’s the best.
  • 300ml water (six parts)

Instructions on how to make kids bubble solution

  1. Measure the washing-up liquid into a container, such as a jam jar or bowl.
  2. Slowly add in the water, being careful not to create too many bubbles at this stage. Gently stir the mixture together to combine . Use a paper straw for this.
  3. If you can, let the bubble mixture rest before using it, as it will make your bubbles even better.
  4. When you’re ready, dip your bubble wand into the mixture and start blowing bubbles!
